Events are sponsored by the Benicia State Parks Association. Vintage Lawn games are held on the Capitol lawn, hand churned ice cream is made, period attired volunteers join in the July Torchlight Parade, lemonade and cookies are served in the tradition of the Hanlon sisters, warm cider and cookies from the wood burning stove are served in the Fischer Hanlon house kitchen during the winter Open House, and Victorian Ornament making is done at the Capitol building.
These events are made possible through donations and consistent community involvement. A Capitol Gift Shop is operated by the Association. Wooden toys, books and California State Parks materials are available for sale in the shop.
